Friends Place Book Store
The Friends of the Southeast Regional Library operate Friends Place, a used book store in the Southeast Regional Library, 775 N. Greenfield Road, Gilbert, Arizona. The phone number of Friends Place is (480)539-5128. Store hours are Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Our all volunteer book store sells books and media that have been donated by the community. Profits will benefit the library, literacy programs and provide five scholarships for the Town of Gilbert high school seniors.
Your donations will help us meet our 2007/2008 budget goal of $49,000. This will fund library programs and items not in the budget including the following:
* $6,000 for the Summer Reading program
* $10,000 for Children’s literature and DVD’s
* $10,000 for books and DVD’s for adults
* $2,200 to adult literacy programs
* $1,000 for the Marshall Trimble Program
* $500 for the adult summer reading program
* $600 for the Battle of The Books
* $1,500 for non-summer reading program
* $3,000 for a portable sound system
* $1,000 for portable stage lighting
Friends value the community and additionally give to the following to promote Literacy and Volunteering:
* $2,000 to Adult Literacy programs
* $3,000 to the Mesa Laubach Literacy Council for adult English learners
* $1,000 each for five scholarships to the Town of Gilbert high school senior for their involvement in volunteering.

If you would be interested in volunteering on a regular basis for 2-4 hours at a time, we are always in need of helping hands. High school students wishing to volunteer are welcome. Direct adult supervision will be provided at all times.
